The problems for Juve in Serie A continue with 0-1 loss to Atalanta

Atalanta achieved a close victory with 1-0 in their visit to Juventus in the 14th round of Serie A. Duvan Zapata scored the only goal in the 28th minute. The nerazzurri recorded their first success as a guest in Turin since 1989. In addition, for the first time in their history, they won two consecutive games against the Bianconeri.

Massimiliano Allegri made only one change in his lineup. Rodrigo Bentancur gave his place to Paulo Dybala, who formed the attacking duo with Alvaro Morata. Atalanta was led by Duvan Zapata, who was assisted by Matteo Pessina and Ruslan Malinovskyi.

Juventus started more aggressive, dominating much of the possession, but struggling to get in behind the Atalanta back line. Unfortunately in the 28th minute Zapata advanced into the penalty area and with a great shot gave the lead to the nerazzurri.

Dybala had a chance to try to level the score, but after picking the ball up on the edge of the box he could only send it just wide of Atalanta’s post.

At the break, Allegri put in Federico Bernardeschi in place of the injured Chiesa. In the 60th minute Leonardo Bonucci found Weston McKenna deep, but Djimsiti managed to clear the ball.

Moses Kean had to replace McKennie, who also got an injury. In the 74th minute, the guests were demanding a penalty for a foul by Juan Cuadrado against Mario Pasalic, but instead the referee gave a corner. In added time Juve themselves demanded a penalty for handball by Joachim Maele, but to no avail . Shortly before the end, the crossbar stopped Dybala’s shot from a foul and so the result remained unchanged.

Juventus is in eighth place with 21 points and after this loss moved even further away from the top 4.
